USTC ANNUAL PICNIC

USTC Picnic is this Saturday, August 20, 2011 at Cottonwood Crek Park from 11:00a.m. – 4:00p.m.

This is always one of our most festive and fun events – please join us for Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Bulgogi (the best Korean Bar-B-Que you have ever tasted) and pot luck style fixings.  Plan to stay for the games to work off all the great food.  We are doubly excited that the Muju Demonstration Team will be joining us this year!

MUJU PARK TAEKWONDO DEMONSTRATION TEAM HOMESTAY

The Muju Park Taekwondo Demonstration Team has been with us for about a week, and their two performances so far have been outstanding!  If you haven’t seen them yet, don’t miss their last performance this Friday, August 19th at 6:00p.m. at the Olympic Training Center.  Tickets are still on sale at the front desk.

REMINDER – ALL CLASSES CANCELLED THIS FRIDAY SO EVERYONE CAN ATTEND THE DEMONSTRATION!

THERE WILL BE 4 BOARDS AUTOGRAPHED BY THE ENTIRE TEAM AVAILABLE TO WIN THIS FRIDAY – 3 WILL BE AWARDED TO THE PEOPLE DRESSED IN THE BEST USTC SPIRIT

It was announced that the 2012 U.S. National Open Hanmadang will be in Colorado Springs!!  This exciting event will bring Taekwondo practitioners from around the country, and the world to our own backyard to celebrate together.

Muju Park Taekwondo Demonstration Team Information!

We are proud to announce that the Muju Park Taekwondo Demonstration Team will have three performances in the Colorado Springs Area after their performance in Chicago at the U.S. Open National Hanmadang.

MUJU PARK TAEKWONDO DEMONSTRATION TEAM HOMESTAY

We are proud to be hosting the Muju Park Taekwondo Demonstration Team here in Colorado Springs after their performance at the U.S. Open Taekwondo Hanmadang in Chicago.  We know it is a big decision to host a member of this team – and also know the benefits are tremendous.  To help our students and their families decide we have created a DETAILED schedule of what is involved.  Please read the accompanying summary letter, and then the detail of what will be expected.  If you are interested in hosting a team member please email BOTH Mrs. Leidenberger at lleidenberger@familyblackbelt.com and Caroline White at caroline_k_white@yahoo.com

USTC Closures and Hanmadang Travel Info

This open National Taekwondo Competition will be held close to Chicago, IL again this year.  For more information visit www.ustaekwondocommittee.com .  Registration is now live online at www.usapunch.com.  No matter your rank or age you are welcome at this tournament.  As a Taekwondo Celebration (the meaning of Hanmadang) you will find friends, test your skills and be amazed – participation at the US Open Taekwondo Hanmadang is an experience of a lifetime!

For those traveling to the Hanmadang this year, and wish to have a little extra practice time the following Open Gym Times are available:

Monument – Sundays 12:00p.m. – 2:00p.m.

Lehman – Fridays 5:00p.m. – 7:00p.m.

Citadel – Tuesdays 4:00p.m. – 6:00p.m. and Saturdays 10:00a.m. – 12:00p.m.

CLOSURE REMINDER – Because many USTC Instructors and Staff participate in the hanmadang every year we will have the following amended schedule:

Friday – August 5th – ALL LOCATIONS – NO CLASSES
Monument Dojang – Open Training from 5:00p.m. – 6:00p.m.

Saturday – August 6th – ALL LOCATIONS – NO CLASSES
Monument Dojang – Open Training from 10:00a.m. – 11:30a.m.

The USTC is now accepting applications for the Front Desk Position at the Briargate Location.  Candidates should have some receptionist/front desk experience and preferably some Taekwondo experience as well.  Pay is dependent on experience.  Please email resumes to briargate@familyblackbelt.com
